Visiting a new church can be intimidating. We understand the many thoughts that can come from visiting a new church, so we want you to feel completely comfortable when you visit. If you have any additional questions, don't hesitate to contact us. What is the service like? Services begin with praise and worship music, including choruses and hymns. Lyrics are shown on a screen and you are welcome to sing, or just follow along. We also have a time of prayer, followed by the message given by the Pastor. Most services last about 75 minutes. What are the people like? The people of John Wesley are friendly and loving. We will be glad you chose to visit John Wesley and we will encourage you to feel welcome! What should I wear? We want you to feel comfortable. God looks at the heart, not the clothing, and at John Wesley we try to do the same! People who attend John Wesley wear anything from their "Sunday-best" to casual clothing. Where do my children go? Children of all ages are welcome at John Wesley and we have special programs for all. Children are first given a sticker which gives the church caregivers some information. The sticker gives the child's name and where you are located in the church, in case we need to contact you. A nursery is provided for children, ages newborn to age 2. The Toddler Room is for children age 3-4. Children, age 5 through 5th grade, can attend a special Junior Worship which begins before the Pastor's Message. Am I expected to put money in the offering? If you are visiting with us, we don't expect you to put money in the offering, and you are welcome to just let it pass you by. If you consider John Wesley Free Methodist your church home, we'd love for you to prayerfully consider giving. Is there any special assistance for hearing impairment? Yes, for those who are hearing impaired, we have special hearing devices that you can wear that will allow you to control the volume. If you think this would be beneficial to you, please visit the Welcome Center at John Wesley on Sunday. Will I be able to understand the service if I am a Spanish-speaker? Yes, we have translators available for those who speak Spanish. John Wesley also has Bible translations in Spanish on the large screens. |
